What is economics?

Actually Economics is not or clearly defined discipline, its frontiers are constantly changing & their definition is frequently a subject of controversy. A commonly used definition characteriscs economics as the study of the use of limited resources for the achievement of alternative ends, More specifically, economics may be defined as a social science which covers the actions of individuals and groups of individuals in the processes of producing, exchanging and consuming goods and services.

Why it is important for me?

          Economics is so important or fit for me because-

1. i) It will develop my skills of logical thinking.
2. ii) Its knowledge will help me to investigate issues in public policy, business or financial industries.

iii)     Economics covers topics that are highly relevant both to decision making in most jobs that you are likely to do in life.

1. iv) Economics is both a preparation for taking day-to-day decisions in a firm or other organization and a training in the analysis of many of the “big issues” of our time.
2. v) By studying economics we can understand what are the important roles that goverments can play in improving the functioning of a basically market-oriented economy?
